Flash Animations for Websites

Adobe Flash is a multimedia platform that is used to add animation, video and interactivity to websites on the internet. Flash is develop by Adobe Systems and it is widely used by websites for streaming audio / video, banner ads, as well as to make the website more attractive and interactive. However, there are some disadvantages of Flash; the first is that Flash tends to make a website heaver and it will take a longer time for users to open the website.

Secondly, Internet users need to download the Flash Player plugin and install it before they can open a website that contains flash. Thirdly, Adobe Flash is not "Search Engine Friendly", this means that Search Engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing are not able to crawl / read the writings that is in Flash. As the result, the keywords read by Search Engine Crawlers are very limited. Just recently, Apple launched its newest product iPad, which is very popular in Indonesia market. However Apple claims to find some disadvantages of using Flash, and therefore Apple’s devices such as iPhone, iPod, and iPad do not come with Flash capability.
